A short play exploring what 'love' actually is. How do we perceive, offer, accept and reject love? Written and directed by Rhiannon, L, O, V, E, question mark was performed as a part of Chichester Fringe in June 2024.
This 45 minute play hosts a cast of 5, made up of Maggie McGuire, Holly Darville, Caius Nicholas, Xavier Knox-Johnson and Craig Unadkat. Stylistically, the writing is inspired by Sarah Kane, and is more of an abstract exploration of a concept, than a narrative driven piece.
'But it tastes so good and you won’t stop. So you just carry on and let your teeth start to rot.'
When watching L,O,V,E, question mark, audiences are invited to reflect on their own experiences with love. We explore the ways in which our upbringings can shape our perspective of what love should be, how our first romantic dalliances can feel like the world might end, and how our own self-worth can be heavily impacted and prescribed by our varying efforts to achieve love. The play itself was created from Rhiannon's own confused feelings over what love should be, and is driven by a desire to understand and gain a clear-cut answer to that question.

"Love is not a singular feeling. But we use a singular word to describe it." - Holly Darville
As the play was originally written and developed during Rhiannon's time at the University of Chichester, we are especially excited that its debut will take place in Chichester as part of the fringe festival.
